Additional Forecast Notes for July 27-30

Additional notes from Lisa V. An experienced hang glider and paraglider competition pilot and local meteorologist:

Hi Chris,

I don't know how to post to the blog so here is my contribution for today, result of quickly examining the NAM, NWS, qpf, XC skies and Dr. Jack's. Good Monroe task day.

Today: Isolated showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 83. South wind 6 to 10 mph becoming west. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Wed: Early task, tstorm cells dvp by 3pm but light westerly should allow for a decent triangle, dog-leg or out-and-back within the valley corridor; cloudbase 14K, thermal strength avg 700 fpm; Monroe launch

Thurs: similar to Wed, Monroe launch; may be better window for open distance

Fri: Lightest winds may allow for an Edna launch early

Hope this helps, let me know how it verifies. Will send more details later.
