Area forecast discussion
National Weather Service Salt Lake City Utah
343 PM MDT Monday Jul 25 2011
Synopsis...southwest flow will allow monsoonal moisture to spread
into the forecast area through Tuesday. A Pacific trough forecast to
cross the northern rockies Tuesday will usher somewhat drier air into the
region for the middle to latter portion of the week. Monsoonal
moisture will build back into the region for the weekend.
Over Development & Precip
A 50% chance of TS are on tap for Tuesday. For the Richfield area, this nearly guarantees weather to impact soaring conditions negatively. By late morning TS should be producing rain and lightening throughout all of Southern Utah. Compared to Monday's afternoon events, Tuesday will be very similar but with more moisture aloft, leading to heavier rainfall. Winds are to remain fairly light until OD disrupts morning pattern.
